Theme Builder® is a software program that you can use on your laptop or desktop computer to customize BlackBerry® themes.  If you want to change the look of your BlackBerry® themes including BlackBerry Curve® and BlackBerry Pearl®, you can use Plazmic®’s Theme Builder® or BlackBerry® phone.

Interactive Phone Image

The phone image is located on the left side of the screen.  You can zoom the phone image for a close-up look at your customizations and zoom for a look at how your customizations match with the entire phone image.  As you manipulate the different elements of the BlackBerry® theme, the changes are instantly shown in the screen portion of the phone image.  This feature makes it easy to coordinate the different components of the BlackBerry® themes including BlackBerry Pearl® and BlackBerry Curve®.

Using PNG Images in Theme Builder

You can work with your own favorite images when you use Theme Builder®.  You can use your own pictures as background images, icons, and buttons.  The images must be saved in PNG format.  Any PNG image that you use must be created in the same resolution as the default BlackBerry® phone screen pictures.  You can easily see the resolution numbers for these icon images by rolling your pointer over the image.  A resolution number will pop up.  If your image resolution differs from the default image resolution number, your image may be distorted when displayed on your BlackBerry® phone screen.  Your icon images should also be the same size as the default BlackBerry® icons.  You should also create icons that are the same size as the default icon images.  Using PNG images with the same resolution number and the same size of the default images will give your images a crisp quality.

Five Main Screen Components to Customize

There are five main categories of screen elements that you can customize in Theme Builder®.  These five categories are the banner, phone, messages, home screen, and icons.  The buttons to access these screen categories are located in the middle of the computer screen.  When you click on one of the buttons, the toolbox for that category is opened up.  All you have to do is point, click, and move, move toggles, and perform other mouse commands to customize and add images to your BlackBerry® themes.

The Font and Color Toolboxes

You will find the text tools in the upper right area of your computer screen.  You can choose which font to use for the different screen components from a drop down menu that becomes available when you click on the font tool.  In the same way, you can choose the size, color, and style of your text for the different BlackBerry® screen elements.  When it’s time to choose a color, Theme Builder® gives you a color picker with different tools for finding and creating the right color for your theme project.  You can choose from a set of colors and a color wheel.  You can adjust your chosen color with a click of the button.  You can coordinate all screen elements to your preference easily in Theme Builder®. 

Using the Mask and Background Image Tools

Below the text tools, you will find the background image and the mask tools.  You can add and choose your own unique background image easily with a click of the button.  You can use the mask tool to fade a strong background image by percentages with your desired color.  You will find the icon picker tool below the mask and background image tools.  You can choose and add your personalized icon images to your BlackBerry® themes.  This ability to add images that you have either downloaded previously or created in your favorite paint program allows you to create a truly personalized BlackBerry® phone screen.  You can add your favorite pictures or logo to your BlackBerry® phone screen.  You will find it easy to make BlackBerry® themes for your BlackBerry® phone because of the ease of the point and click toolboxes of Theme Builder®.
